The Players Foundation are here to support you right from the very beginning. As soon as you have concerns about either your memory or someone else’s you can make contact with us. We will connect you with our partners DISC Dementia Support who can give you information, support, signposting and referrals, where appropriate. The support The Players Foundation can provide includes, but is not limited to:
- On-going 1to1 support.
- Support for people who for whatever reason do not have a formal dementia or other neurodegenerative condition.
- Support from pre-diagnosis all the way through to bereavement.
- Information for people newly diagnosed with dementia or other neurodegenerative conditions.
- Financial support where appropriate.
- Support with the grant application process.
- Welfare rights support.
- Finance and benefit information.
- Referrals to other services and support with managing those referrals.
- On-going and bespoke emotional support and information around the diagnosis process and living with dementia or another neurodegenerative condition.
- Bespoke information courses that cover a variety of important topics from what dementia is and what are the ways you can support someone living with dementia, through to the importance of getting Lasting Power of Attorney’s and Will’s in place.
- Help to identify the services in your local area that may be able to support you on your dementia journey and in a caring role.
- Information on what is available from your Local Authority and how to access that support.
