Winter is here and we understand the challenge many face in staying warm, especially with the change to the Government Winter Fuel Payment funding levels and criteria.
Our Winter Fuel 2025 fund is here to provide a helping hand to current and former professional football players within our beneficial class (details on our website). If you’re struggling to meet your energy costs, please reach out today.
Who can apply?
You must be
- In receipt of a means tested benefit, OR
- Aged 66+ with a gross household income of less than £35k

FAQs
- anyone who plays or has played or trained with a club in the English Premier League and or Football League or any successor competition,
- in receipt of a means tested benefit, OR
- aged 66+ with a gross household income of less than £35k
Online at www.theplayersfoundation.org and completing the online application form
- Official letter confirming proof of your full-time enrolment,
- copies of the last 3 months pay slips (if employed), if self-employed your latest tax return or proof of your benefits statement,
- proof of photo identification, this can be in the form of a photocard driving licence or passport and a copy of an official letter confirming your address
- Applications will not be processed without ALL of the requested documentation.
