Useful definitions:
Charitable objectives: The aim and purpose of the charity as defined within a charity’s governing document. Ours can be found here.
Beneficiaries: Those who we can help. The Players Foundation beneficiaries are predominantly current and former professional footballers from within the Premier League and Football League in England and Wales. This is defined in our governing document as:
Financial hardship: The possibility of losing your home due to mortgage or rent arrears, having bailiffs sent in or other equally serious financial problems.
The Trustees of The Players Foundation want to ensure that the charity can support its beneficiaries both now and in the future.
The Trustees therefore manage the funds of the charity to maximise income and ensure charity funds are applied across the issues facing our beneficiaries in line with our strategy.
There is no entitlement for help. Trustees impose financial criteria thresholds and individual beneficiary limits on all applications to ensure funds are directed to those most in need.
All financial assistance is provided to meet a charitable need.
