Applications now open for the Summer Holiday Essentials 2026

The Players Foundation is delighted to announce that applications open today (April 1st) for the new Summer Holiday Essentials Fund 2026 and will remain open until May 31st.
The fund has been launched to provide support to current and former professional footballers who are experiencing financial hardship and meet the Foundation’s qualifying criteria. The fund is designed to help families manage essential costs over the forthcoming summer period.
Grants are available to help with:
- Food and essential groceries
- Holiday clubs, childcare and structured activities
- School uniforms and footwear for the upcoming academic year
In announcing the fund, David Harrison, Chief Executive of The Players Foundation, said: ‘We recognise that summer can be a challenging time for families, especially during the long school holidays when everyday costs increase. We understand the pressure this can place on households, from higher food bills to childcare and preparing for the new school year. Please apply as soon as you can, if you believe you meet the criteria.’
