The Players Foundation Board appoints two new Trustees

The Board of Trustees at The Players Foundation is delighted to announce the appointment of Harpreet Robertson and Rob Clare as new members of the Board.

Harpreet and Rob bring with them a huge wealth of experience in football, alongside extensive knowledge of senior leadership and governance. They are both passionate advocates of inclusivity and nurturing grassroots football.

Harpreet is currently Director of Player Management and Care at Red Berry Management, where she supports footballers and elite sporting professionals during and beyond their playing careers.  She is a Board Director at the Middlesex FA Community Football Centre, supporting the strategic direction of the facility and ensuring football remains accessible to every member of the community. Harpreet also works with the Football Supporters’ Association, building strong stakeholder relationships with Premier League Clubs and their supporter groups.

Harpreet spent 16 years at The Football Association, where she held key positions such as Head of Customer Relations and leading the England Supporters Club and Football Family.  She worked closely with both the England men’s and women’s teams across ten UEFA Euro and FIFA World Cup tournaments.

Rob is an experienced former professional footballer who played for Stockport County FC and Blackpool FC in the EFL and also represented England at youth level, including two appearances for the England Under 20 team.

Since retiring from the game in 2008, Rob has held a number of senior sporting roles, including the post of Commercial Manager at Stockport County, where he spent three years leading a team generating commercial income for the club.  Rob is currently the Sports and Community Development Director at the Laurus Trust, which provides exceptional education to a family of schools across Greater Manchester and Cheshire.

Brendon Batson OBE, Chairman of The Players Foundation, said: ‘I am thrilled to welcome Harpreet and Rob to our Board of Trustees, and I know their combined expertise will be of enormous value to us. This is an exciting time to be joining the Foundation as we implement our new strategy and provide critical support to former professional footballers and scholars who find themselves in charitable need.’
